Does your church currently have a website? If so, is it difficult for your webmaster to find the time to post announcements and a church calendar in a timely manner? Perhaps there are groups or organizations within the church that would like their own web presence. Whether you currently have a website or not, we can help.
Think how convenient it would be for your members to see reminders, announcements and a current church calendar from their home at the click of the mouse. A recent statistic indicated that over eighty percent of U.S. households now have access to the World Wide Web. Think of the time and money saved by not mailing church newsletters to members with web access. In addition, we can also provide your church with one or more email addresses. That way, church personnel do not have to use their personnel email account for church business.
This sample newsletter uses a format that starts with an introduction section. This section should contain a single article and normally be limited two or three paragraphs. It is an ideal location for a mission statement, a greeting from the pastor or general information about the church. You can rename the section. Suggestions include Church Mission, About, and Pastor's Message.
This section of the newsletter is intended for short announcements. Each announcement should normally run no more than one or two sentences in length.
This section may consist of several short announcements.
Limit announcement to one or two sentences. Place longer topics in the News Section.
Announcements may be broken into groups with titles. Notice the next announcement has a title and consists of six bullets.
This section is for longer articles. An article may have a heading and several subheadings. The number of articles is determined by their length and by the page capacity of the plan you select.
The newsletter format consists of a heading, a contact box and five content sections. The heading displays the newsletter name of your choice, your church or organization name and the date. The contact box contains the mailing address and phone number(s). It can also contain the name(s) and email addresses of selected church personnel. The five content sections are Introduction, Announcements, News, Calendar and Links. You may rename them on your Setup Sheet.
TorbertData Systems now offers a "web newsletter" for important announcements, news items, and a monthly church calendar. If your church does not have a website, this will provide your congregation with a quick and convenient way to be informed of upcoming events and announcements. If your church has a website, the newsletter links to it and will enhance it with frequent updates.
You simply mail, email or fax updates to us and we post them for you. We do all the work! This will greatly reduce the workload for the person maintaining your site. In addition, your congregation will visit your main website more often because of the link from the newsletter. If you think this service is expensive, you are wrong. We have several plans to choose starting as low as $9.95 per month plus a small setup fee. CMTS for Windows customers are eligible for a slightlly lower monthly cost.
Please call us at (800) 755-2641 or email us at newsletter@torbertdata.com if we can answer any other questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
We have designed a standard format to make it possible to offer this service at such a low price. We can customize your newsletter at an additional cost. The quickest way to submit your materials is by email. Submissions by regular mail or fax should be on plain white 8 1/2 by 11in paper with 1 in margins at the top, bottom and sides. If you fax or mail your submissions, text should be at least 12pts and in a Times New Roman font. This is necessary to insure that our scanner's Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology can read your documents. This document was printed using the specification discussed in this paragraph.

Submissions to the calendar should appear in three distinct columns. Those colums are Date, Start Time, and Event Description. Try to keep event description to approximately 40 characters or less.
Links make it possible to go from one website to another. We can link your newsletter to your main website, your district, or national office. All we need is the web address.
